Student Television welcomes Above the Fold to channel 33! Above the Fold follows the staff of a college newspaper as they deal with life on and off the page.

The show’s been named a cross between The Office and The West Wing. Above the Fold is an independent series written and produced in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, by community members and students at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

UNC Student Television is television made by students, for students. We air 24 hours a day on channel 33 in your dorm room and channel 4 off campus to the general Chapel Hill community. Our programs are produced entirely by students intended for an audience of students.

Carolina Conversations will host an interest meeting for students who would like to work on the show for the spring 2012 semester on Monday, November 28th at 5pm in the Union MultiPurpose Room. They are particularly in need of underclassmen students who want to work with recording, editing and publicity. Please contact carolinaconversations@gmail.com for more.

Members of Student Television are concerned that the thousands of dollars they used to upgrade their space in the Student Union have gone to waste.

At bare minimum, the Student Union owes Student Television an apology for splitting its space in the multipurpose room. But that’s not allSTVdeserves. After sinking $30,000 into transforming the room into a functional studio, STVmust now begin anew with a renovation that could prove more costly than the first. The Union must reimburseSTVfor a move that deprived the group not only of studio space but of a voice in the decision, as well.
